The history of the fortress dates back to 1579, when Croatian warriors built it to protect the town from Ottoman forces. One of the most memorable parts of my trip to Hvar was watching the sunset. As the sun slowly disappears into the horizon, you can see the stunning colors cascading over the Dalmatian Coast. It’s truly a magical experience.
